Shahzaib Shahid - Team Leader

Hello, My name is Shahzaib and i am a senior in Electrical Engineering at Iowa State University. My focus area is VLSI and i intend to do a masters in VLSI after graduation. Most of my course work here at Iowa State has been about hardware or integrating hardware and software together, as in embedded systems. For this senior design project, I am the team lead for our design group and my responsibilities include setting up all of the meetings and interactions between our group, between the group and the faculty, and also client. I also assist in coming up with design ideas for our system design and also in testing the parts that used in our design. Apart from all that, I enjoy reading novels, sports and hiking !

Jordan Fox - Chief Engineer

I am currently a senior at Iowa State University with a major in Computer Engineering. My main interests include software development, embedded systems, and computer architecture. For this senior design project, I will be chief engineer and design engineer.

Andesen Ande - Report Manager

I am currently a senior at Iowa State majoring in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in power systems. My main interests are designing, testing, and implementing hardware. For this project I am rotating between different roles to develop a diverse skill set, but I am mainly involved in testing and documentation.

Ben Yoko - Test Engineer

I am currently a senior at Iowa State double majoring in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. I have had a variety of internships and co-ops, including mechanical design roles, manufacturing engineering, and most recently a systems engineering position with Collins Aerospace. I am specializing in Automatic Controls for both degrees and I have accepted a full time offer with PepsiCo starting in June 2020. I have a strong interest in hands-on projects, building, and problem-solving so I am very excited about my position where I will be able to use my skills and experience in a variety of ways. I have had a number of responsibilities on our team, mainly focusing on component testing and documentation of data and team meetings.

Xiangyu Cao - Test Engineer

I am a senior EE student focusing VLSI and automatic control system. I had research experience in Mixed Signal Circuit Design and Testing of Analog Components in SoCs. I had a wide range experiences in the field of circuit design including hands-on experiences of using Eagle, Cadence Virtuoso, Quartus Prime, MATLAB and I had considerable amount of experience of programming including C, JAVA and Verilog. Currently I am working on project “Spectral Analysis of Frequency-Hopped Buck Regulators for True Spur-Free Operation.” And senior design project “Application of Ultra Low Voltage Power Harvesting Module”.

Ahmed Salem - Design Engineer

I am currently a senior Electrical Engineering at Iowa State university. I have had multiple internship and co-op experiences with Siemens and International Paper cooperation, I performed point to point check out of installed equipment to verify operability of components including HVAC control systems, lighting control systems, etc. I have also verified the operation of equipment and the sequence of operation. I designed control device networks for PLCs, HMI and DCS systems. My main interests are power analysis, control system, and testing. My responsibilities on this project mainly involved documentation, and component testing.
